A skills matrix is a tool used to identify and assess the skills required to fulfil specific tasks. They also help to identify areas where additional training may be needed, developing lifelong learning programmes and support employees with their career ambitions. This matrix can also be used to compare skills allowing leaders to identify who has the strongest skills to contribute successfully to key initiatives. It is also relevant to define work-life balance strategies to engage and retain talented employees
